Frequently Asked Questions
From Families About Sober Living Homes

How do I know if my loved one is ready for a sober living home?

If they’ve completed a treatment program, are clean and sober, and want to continue rebuilding their life in a structured environment, they may be a good fit. Sober living provides support between treatment and full independence.

What kind of supervision or accountability is in place?

Every home has a resident manager who lives on-site and helps maintain a safe, sober environment. Residents are expected to follow house rules, stay sober, and contribute to a respectful living space.

Can I visit or check in with my loved one?

Of course you can come and get them to go somewhere any time you like or even visit them on our porch or patio. This is not the same as a treatment center. We respect the privacy and autonomy of each resident, so visits inside the home should be coordinated with the resident manager. Family involvement is welcome and we're available to answer your questions or provide updates when needed.

What happens if they relapse?

Our homes have a zero-tolerance policy for drug or alcohol use. If a relapse occurs, the resident must leave the property for the safety and well-being of the other residents who have chosen to stay sober. However, we’ll do what we can to connect them with resources to get back on track safely.

How long can someone stay in sober living?

There’s no fixed timeline. Some residents stay for a few months, others longer. We encourage them to stay until they feel ready and stable enough to live independently.

What do they need to bring? What is provided?

The homes are fully furnished and stocked with essentials like kitchenware, cleaning supplies, linens, and laundry detergent. Your loved one just needs to bring personal items and a commitment to staying clean. Of course if they have their favorite pillow, blanket, etc., they are welcome to bring those as well. We don't offer a large amount of storage, so they should bring just the things they actually need.
